OOW About 2014.03.02 (1)

Officer of the Watch (OOW) is an initiative focusing on enhancing knowledge and dissemination of information related directly or indirectly to merchant vessels and offshore operations. The aim of the Officer of the Watch is to highlight selected maritime and offshore topics and articles, offering an important training tool to anyone who seeks knowledge or is involved in the maritime and offshore industry.

  • For submission of articles, news or relevant material?contact the OOW Team.?
  • Material submitted for publication should?comply with the Editorial?OOW POLICY.

The Officer of the Watch (OOW) was initially developed by Stavros Kairis, during early 2012, under the form of a simple blog to be used as a self-learning tool for maritime issues. In the process more young professionals from Greece?got involved and thus the initial blog took the form of the OOW initiative.

Upon designing and developing this website every effort was made to keep it as simple as possible and at the same time user friendly. The target was to make the user feel comfortable and not dazzled by an overwhelming flow of information giving him “more than he can handle”.

  • Information on the content of the website and how to best navigate through it and make use of its features is given in the OOW HOW TO page.
